I was approached by UCLA’s Public Policy department to take Migrant outflow (2008) part in their new infographics book depicting recently found data. Previously designed by Willem Henri Lucas, this year, alumni students were asked to take three data sets to produce three spreads. Art directed by Ryan Weafer, we were each given a set typeface selection, color palate and grid.
The three data sets I received were ‘Migration & Diaspora,’ ‘Tourism’ & ‘Education.’ My goal was to visual the data in a way that offered a general briefing at a glance, but offers fluid navigation through structure and typography. This was achieved extensive visual/background research, multiple iterations and critiques.
